Apartment HS06

Berlin 2018

This private residence was designed with the client’s brief in mind to create a “masculine, clean, yet comfortable” atmosphere. In the living room the fireplace serves as an eye-catcher, with its white mantle contrasting against the black hearth. A light grey, cement-finished bench for seating or ornamental items runs alongside it, to complete the comfort given by the classic modernist furniture. Different shades of grey with varying lightness are used for all architectural and structural elements throughout the apartment, perfectly highlighting the owner’s furniture and artworks. Two built in wardrobes, with smooth, linear, integrated handles, offer a minimalist storage solution with enough space for the whole apartment. In the kitchen the dark grey colour is complemented by a terrazzo countertop and brass details, while the bedroom wardrobe is coloured in a warm vintage pink. This pastel shade is continued in the hallway to the master bathroom, contrasting with the terrazzo surroundings and the delicate black bezels of the glass panes. Lighting throughout the home was designed by PSLab, with pendant lights and wall sconces underscoring the masculine tone.
